Activity: Nature Loom weaving

Join us this week to create simple weaving looms and then head out on a foraging walk to gather wildflowers, herbs, leaves, feathers, and other treasures from around the farm! Children will weave their gathered pieces into the looms, learning how to layer and tuck natural materials through the frame. This hands-on craft helps build focus, fine motor skills, and appreciation for the colors and textures of the season! Each child’s piece becomes a one-of-a-kind work of living art and can be updated at home with the changing seasons!

We’ll also enjoy a refreshing cup of herbal iced tea or lemonade, made fresh from the garden to sip while we play.

This session is best for ages five and under. Siblings welcome.

Activity: Popcorn pouches and herbal salt and tasting!

This week, we’ll explore the flavors of dried herbs in a fun, food-focused session. Children will mix their own herbal salt blend using pre-dried herbs like rosemary, thyme, and basil, then decorate a tag to label their creation to take home. Then each child will also decorate a small muslin pouch and fill it with unpopped popcorn kernels to take home and make with their family.

We’ll finish up by sampling the salt together by trying it on popcorn with a little olive oil, served as a simple, savory snack during our time together.

We’ll also enjoy a refreshing cup of herbal iced tea or lemonade, made fresh from the garden to sip while we play.
